Druid's Dream

Priest of the mistletoe

hooded seer
under twilight willows

he has visions
of dread tomorrows:

Faustian forges
hammering out prizes

for addled paladins
madly jousting

against Gaia’s green knights.

Smoke and mirrors
of Technos

toxic blowback fumes
and cracked mirrors

heirs of Amfortas
lanced in their manhood

by their own hand

lunging forward
only in a warped reflection

their reversed movement
unfelt, unseen.

Gaia will not be raped
and pillaged

without reckoning.

Heirs of Amfortas
children of Faust

will hear the roaring
of the wind

and swelling seas.

They will heed no warnings

there will be no arks.

Dolphins will leap
and play in the waters

far above submerged towers
and troubled houses.

Gaia will once again

be free.
