Biography

Lisa Zimmerman’s poetry and short stories have appeared in Natural Bridge, Florida Review, Poet Lore, Apple Valley Review, Gravel, Cave Wall, Redbook and many other journals and anthologies. She has published six poetry collections, most recently The Hours I Keep (Main Street Rag) and The Light at the Edge of Everything (Anhinga Press). Her debut poetry collection How the Garden Looks From Here won the Violet Reed Haas Poetry Award. Her poems have been nominated four times for the Pushcart Prize. Lisa is a Professor of English and Creative Writing at the University of Northern Colorado. She is a recitation coach for Poetry Out Loud and has been the poet-in-residence in K-12 schools in Aurora, Brighton, Longmont, Fort Collins, and Idalia, Colorado. She lives in Fort Collins.
