Biography

Chad Parmenter earned his Bachelor of Arts at Central Missouri State University, and his MFA at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.  His awards include the Jacob K. Javitz Fellowship and, this year, scholarships to West Chester conference and Ropewalk Writers' Retreat.  He was also a finalist for the Writers @ Work Fellowship. 

His reviews have appeared in Pleiades, American Book Review, and the Crab Orchard Review.  His poems have appeared in New Delta Review, The Literary Review, and elsewhere, and are forthcoming in The Kenyon Review, 32poems, Smartish Pace, and Hotel Amerika, where one won their 2005 poetry prize.  His chapbook, "Bat & Man," was a finalist for Diagram's 2005 competition. 

In mid-August of 2005, he worked at a homeless shelter in Alamosa, working on his chapbook, and incorporating it into a larger collection. He is currently in the creative writing doctoral program at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
