Sept. 15: Boulder

The Yellow Pine reading series branches into new territory this fall. On Wednesday, September 15, from 7-8:30, there will be a chance to view paintings, sculptures, photographs and assemblages from over a local dozen artists. Meanwhile, “undercover writers” will scribble notes, phrases, and fragments as they gather ideas for poems, essays, and stories for reading at the next Yellow Pine event on Sept. 29. Sept. 19: Ft. Collins (Radio)

On September 25th at 7 p.m., Green Fuse Poets’ Studio is sponsoring a book release poetry reading celebration with featured reader and open mic and jazz by Otto Koch. Sept. 29: Boulder

The Yellow Pine series will present "Image & Word: Writing Inspired by Art" on Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 7:30-9 p.m. at 1650 Zamia Ave. in Boulder. Poets and writers will read their work inspired by the previous Yellow Pine event on Sept. 15, a showing featuring local artists. Oct. 07: Loveland

As part of the Internet Poets’ Cooperative reading series, “WE ARE the UnREAL”, a nationally touring performance art troupe will perform on Thursday, October 7, from 7-9 p.m. in the Foote Gallery of the Loveland Art Museum (503 N. Lincoln Ave. in downtown Loveland). The troupe performs “original spoken word works with a unique, energetic style blending elements of hip-hop, slam and Shakespeare.”

The Loveland Poets’ Co-op Open Reading Series on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Foote Gallery/Auditorium in Loveland (corner of Fifth and Lincoln) features “We Are the Unreal,” a national-touring act "bringing slam and off-kilter duo/trio/ quartet games, tricks, improv, haiku, hip hop, theater, comedy, slapstick, vaudeville, & whatever else it takes to wreck a room.” Find the group at http://www.illiteratemagazine.com/blog

Oct. 15: Loveland

Distinguished poet Jared Smith, author of the recent Looking into the Machinery: Selected Longer Works of Jared Smith, and Grassroots, will read from his works and sign books on Friday, October 15, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Loveland Art Museum (503 N. Lincoln Ave. in downtown Loveland).

Oct. 17: Loveland

On Sunday, Oct. 17, from 2-4 p.m., at the Foote Gallery of the Loveland Art Museum, the Green Fuse Poetic Arts’ Community will celebrate the publication of the fourth annual IMPROV: Anthology of Colorado Poets with coffee, tea, treats, and Middle Eastern dancing to accent the Persian poetic forms highlighted in this year’s IMPROV. After the entertaining, contributors will read from the new publication, which will be offered for sale and signing by the poets. The Loveland Art Museum is at 503 N. Lincoln Ave.

Denver poet Lynn Wagner, whose chapbook No Blues This Raucous Song, won the 2009 Slapering Hol competition, reads at the Poets’ Co-op Open Reading Series on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Foote Gallery/Auditorium in Loveland (corner of Fifth and Lincoln). Nov. 14: Ft. Collins

Poet Katherine West and slide guitarist Jeff Finer will perform selections from the poet’s memoir/poem "The Frozen Midnight", at the Nonesuch Theatre in Old Town Ft. Collins on Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. Their CD, which includes guest appearances by jazz musicians Aakash Mittal and Josh Moore from the Aakash Mittal Quartet ( http://www.aakashmittalmusic.com ), will be available for sale and signing. Wine and cheese will be offered before and after the performance.
