Sept. 22: Greeley

Poet Jim Tipton will be reading “short poems and verse delights” on the Univ. of Northern Colorado campus, the Univ. Center, Spruce Rom A at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Neal Cross Foundation, the event is open and free to the public.

At 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, during the KRFC Fund Drive, host Dona Stein previews Robert Pinsky’s appearance in Colorado Oct. 3 and reads some of his poems on “The Radio Show,” KRFC 88.9 fm or on the web at www.krcfm.org (hit the Listen button).

Oct. 4: Loveland

On Oct 4, at 2 p.m., the publication of the new IMPROV, an anthology of Colorado poets by Green Fuse Poetic Arts will be celebrated by readings from the writers along with music by slide guitar and traditional Asian instruments. The event will be held in Loveland at the downstairs Foote Gallery in the Loveland Art Museum (503 N. Lincoln).

Oct. 7: Colorado Springs

As part of the Colorado College Visiting Writers Series, Miriam Toews, the Governor-General award-winning Canadian novelist whose books include The Flying Troutmans, A Boy of Good Breeding and A Complicated Kindness, will read on Wednesday, October 7th, at 7 PM in the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Auditorium. Co-sponsored by the D. J. MacLean Endowed Fund for English and the Consulate General of Canada.

Oct. 8: Ft. Collins

Robert Cooperman reads from his new book A Dream of the Northwest Passage on Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Reader's Cove bookstore in Ft.Collins at 1001 E. Horizon Lane (just south off of Harmony).

Oct. 15: Colorado Springs

As part of the Colorado College Visiting Writers Series, Christian Bök, bestselling Canadian poet whose books include Crystallography and Eunoia will read on Thursday, October 15th, at 7 PM in Gates Common Room of Palmer Hall. Co-sponsored with the ACSUS Fund for the Arts.

Nov. 3: Colorado Springs

As part of the Colorado College Visiting Writers Series, Poet-Laureate of the United States and author of  Say Uncle, Elephant Rocks, The Niagara River and other books will read on Tuesday, November 3rd, at 7 PM in the Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center Theatre. Sponsored by the Demarest Lloyd Lecture Fund.

Nov. 5: Loveland

Nov. 12: Colorado Springs

As part of the Colorado College Visiting Writers Series, Bonnie Nadzam, CC’s Daehler Fellow in Fiction, whose work has appeared in such magazines as The Kenyon Review, Ninth Letter, Callaloo and Iron Horse Review, will read on Thursday, November 12th, at 7 PM in McHugh Commons.

Nov. 12: Loveland

On Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m., Veronica Patterson will read from and sign her new book, Thresh & Hold, which won the 2009 Gell Poetry Prize, in Loveland at the downstairs Foote Gallery in the Loveland Art Museum (503 N. Lincoln).

Dec. 1: Colorado Springs

David Quammen, award-winning naturalist and author of many books, including Wild Thoughts from Wild Places, The Reluctant Mr. Darwin and Natural Acts, will givethe Harold D and Rhoda N Roberts Memorial Lecture on Tuesday, December 1st, at 7 PM in the Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center Theater.

Dec. 10: Colorado Springs

As part of the Colorado College Visiting Writers Series, poets Conrad and Jane Hilberry, father and daughter, will read on Thursday, December 10th, at 7 PM in Gates Common Room of Palmer Hall. .  His books include After Music and Sorting the Smoke. She’s the
winner of the Colorado Book Award for Body Painting
